Pensacola State College partners with GBSI for Cyber Range Drill
Pensacola, FL – 15 April 2023 – Global Business Solution, LLC. (GBSI) partnered with Pensacola State College (PSC) to conduct a Cyber Security exercise on April 15th, 2023 in the state-of-the-art Donald McMahon III Center for Cybersecurity, which is housed in the Baars Technology Building on the Pensacola State College (PSC) campus. Seventeen students completed hands-on team-based cybersecurity scenarios, earning digital credentials. Mel Stinson, GBSI’s Chief Technology Officer and Cyber Range Director, stated, “The students gained experience in a top-tier Cyber Range environment which compliments their classroom learning and training to better prepare them for transition into the technical workforce. This was a meaningful experience that cannot be gleaned simply from a book or classroom study. Our Cyber Range lets participants gain exposure to the cybersecurity workforce using modern tools being used by industry to analyze, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats seen in the world today. Ultimately, we’re leveraging ‘gamification’ to provide a competitive and entertaining way to provide students with exposure to the skills needed to enter the cybersecurity workforce.” Nelson Steward, PhD, Department Head of Mathematics and Computer Science, Pensacola State College stated, “This is great.
